ROLE OF A PHYSICAL THERAPIST OFFICER

As a Physical Therapist Officer, your primary duty will be to assist Sailors and their families in recovering from injuries sustained both during service and in their personal lives. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring that Navy personnel remain fit for duty.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen aged between 21 and 41
  • Current licensure and practice in the U.S. (new graduates must secure a license within one year of commencing Active Duty)

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Navy Physical and Occupational Therapists can be stationed at over 250 Navy and medical facilities worldwide. As a Physical Therapist in the Navy, you may have the opportunity to work at prestigious National Naval Medical Centers or provide care aboard specialized hospital ships.

PART-TIME OPPORTUNITIES

Part-time positions are available within the Navy Reserve. As a Reserve Physical or Occupational Therapist Officer, you will receive an excellent benefits package, which may include specialty pay, medical school loan repayment assistance, or a sign-on bonus. As a part-time Reserve Officer, your responsibilities will be fulfilled during scheduled training and drilling periods, typically at locations near your residence.
