Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Technology Support Specialist to join our team at RACC. The successful candidate will provide technical support for faculty and students, assist with the creation of academic technology support resources, and maintain department standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide help desk support for faculty and students for Canvas and other academic technologies.
  • Assist students with orientation to and navigation of Canvas and the RACC online learning environment.
  • Assist in the creation of academic technology support resources for students.
  • Create and deploy routine student course evaluations and other on-demand surveys.
  • Maintain faculty training and distance education course evaluation records.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of department standards of practice.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree.
  • One year of student, instructor, or administrative experience working directly with a learning management system (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, D2L, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One year of technology help desk support experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365: SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and/or Teams.
  • Experience with electronic survey tools (SurveyMonkey, Watermark, or Google/Microsoft Forms).
  • Experience working with students and faculty in a higher education environment.
Skills and Abilities
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ready to self-train and new software.
  • Able to independently solve user problems.
  • Able to write and speak clearly on the phone and face-to-face.
  • Professional and courteous at all times.
