This role is eligible for a $5,000 commitment incentive, distributed in equal installments over a three-year work commitment, paid after every six months of completed service.

Position Overview:
Administers radiation therapy to patients undergoing oncology treatment. Responsibilities include assessment, intervention, documentation, and patient education.

Work is conducted under the general oversight of a radiation therapy supervisor and is evaluated based on adherence to established standards and protocols.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Administers radiation therapy in line with physician directives and the patient's treatment regimen. Inputs data into the system and adjusts equipment settings to regulate dosage. 2.

Collaborates with physicians, radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and other professionals to prepare the technical and physical components of radiation treatment plans, utilizing information regarding patient conditions and anatomy.

Constructs patient immobilization devices as prescribed by physicians. 3.

Maintains accurate patient and billing records, reports, and files in accordance with departmental policies, including details on radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient responses.

4.

Executes both routine and advanced radiation therapy procedures, such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and brachytherapy, adhering to established practices and standards.

5. Prepares treatment rooms and equipment for patient use, employing appropriate safety measures and protective equipment to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Conducts quality assurance checks per state and federal regulations. 6. Provides clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.

Additional Information:

Educational Requirements:

  • Completion of a Radiation Therapy Technologist program accredited by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA).

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Certification in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Or Board Eligible (must obtain certification within one year of employment).
Professional Experience Requirements:

  • No prior experience necessary.
