About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and adolescents with emotional, psychiatric, developmental, or neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in daily living activities, including emotional and behavior support & management, health and hygiene management, cleaning, and recreational activities for the individuals we serve.
  • Actively mentor, coach, monitor, re-direct and support our individuals and maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional and personal needs of the population we serve.
  • Be responsible for accurate documentation, including, but not limited to, shift reports, incident reports and individual progress reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in the areas of psychology, sociology, social work, education or other related field is required or 12 years of relevant Human Service experience.
  • Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders.
  • Valid Driver's License and Satisfactory Drug Screen and Background Check results.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong technical skills and comfortable utilizing in-house computer applications for documenting and reporting purposes.
