Field Sales Representative

The Field Sales Representative plays a crucial role in driving profitable business for National Trench Safety Inc. This position involves strategic planning, comprehensive customer engagement, impactful sales presentations, and a deep understanding of market competition. Continuous follow-up before and after the sale is essential for success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generate orders from both existing and prospective clients through direct visits, jobsite assessments, or communication via phone/email.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with key customer personnel, including purchasing agents, engineers, project managers, and upper management.
- Identify opportunities to provide quotes based on customer needs, offering solutions to problems, technical support, and assistance with job estimates.
- Ensure that equipment is delivered professionally and meets all sale conditions, addressing any additional needs or deficiencies promptly.
- Conduct follow-ups on submitted quotations through phone, email, or in-person visits.
- Utilize Salesforce CRM to document weekly activity reports related to customer interactions, quotes, orders, and any issues regarding customer/vendor relationships.
- Actively pursue all leads, contract opportunities, and inquiries, developing and executing a strategic action plan.
- Provide weekly reports on lost business as required.
- Deliver monthly sales forecasts for the assigned territory.
- Collaborate closely with the Branch Manager, District Manager, District Sales Manager, and other relevant departments regarding customer accounts, including follow-ups on outstanding payments.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Inform Branch, District, and Corporate teams of any territory changes that may impact company performance.
- Assist in organizing and staffing booths at trade shows, demonstrations, and meetings as necessary.
- Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by management.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to manage sales performance against forecasts and objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Proven track record in cold calling and establishing new business accounts.
- Exceptional communication skills, self-motivated, proactive, with a strong sense of urgency and organization.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's degree along with a minimum of three years of outside sales experience in the construction sector is preferred. Familiarity with the equipment rental industry is advantageous.
