Job Overview

The Field Sales Representative plays a crucial role in driving profitable business for National Trench Safety Inc. This position involves strategic planning, comprehensive customer engagement, impactful sales presentations, and a deep understanding of market competition. Continuous follow-up before and after the sale is essential for success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Generate orders from both existing and prospective clients through direct visits, jobsite assessments, or communication via phone/email.
  2. Build and maintain professional relationships with key customer personnel, including purchasing agents, engineers, project managers, and upper management.
  3. Identify opportunities to provide quotes based on customer needs, offering solutions to problems, technical support, and assistance with job estimates.
  4. Ensure that equipment is delivered professionally and meets all sale conditions, addressing any additional needs or deficiencies promptly.
  5. Conduct follow-ups on submitted quotations through phone, email, or in-person visits.
  6. Utilize Salesforce CRM to document weekly activity reports related to customer interactions, quotes, orders, and any issues regarding customer/vendor relationships.
  7. Actively pursue all leads, contract opportunities, and inquiries, developing and executing a strategic action plan.
  8. Provide weekly reports on lost business as required.
  9. Deliver monthly sales forecasts for the assigned territory.
  10. Collaborate closely with the Branch Manager, District Manager, District Sales Manager, and other relevant departments regarding customer accounts, including follow-ups on outstanding payments.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  1. Inform Branch, District, and Corporate teams of any territory changes that may impact company performance.
  2. Assist in organizing and staffing booths at trade shows, demonstrations, and meetings as necessary.
  3. Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Demonstrated ability to manage sales performance against forecasts and objectives.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  3. Proven track record in cold calling and establishing new business accounts.
  4. Exceptional communication skills, self-motivated, proactive, with a strong sense of urgency and organization.
  5. Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's degree along with a minimum of three years of outside sales experience in the construction sector is preferred. Familiarity with the equipment rental industry is advantageous.
