About the Unit
Our environment is dynamic and supportive, catering to a diverse range of patient needs, including those recovering from strokes, cardiac issues, and thoracic surgeries. We prioritize thorough assessments, including the NIHSS scale, and deliver treatment and education according to established protocols.
Patient Care Responsibilities
- Conduct vital sign checks every four hours and perform hourly rounding on all patients.
- Collaborate closely with Physical and Occupational Therapy teams to facilitate patient recovery.
- Educate patients and their families on post-discharge expectations and care.

Scope of Work
As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide care according to the established plan, unit protocols, and hospital policies under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include:
- Safe transport of patients using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of services provided.
- Serving as an Observer for patients requiring constant monitoring to ensure their safety.
- Performing clerical duties to support the efficient operation of the nursing unit.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home setting is preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
- Current CNA certification is preferred.
Work Schedule
This position is full-time, primarily during night shifts, with a commitment to working every third weekend.
