Job DescriptionTitle: CAT Scan Technologist
Schedule: Per Diem
Under the direction of the Chief Technologist or designee, the Radiologic Technologist III performs radiographic and CAT scan examinations with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities include preparing and assisting patients for CAT scan procedures, educating patients about procedures, and obtaining optimum quality images through proper anatomical positioning and techniques.
Essential functions include:
- Preparing intravenous contrast media
- Operating Radiographic or Bone Density equipment for diagnostic quality imaging
- Obtaining essential information from patients, medical records, and previous scans for clinical correlation
- Maintaining a daily log of patients seen
- Maintaining Cleanliness of equipment and working area
- Maintaining familiarity of the emergency drugs and the equipment's location
- Practicing sterile technique and preventing cross contamination when indicated
Requirements include:
- New York State and/or Connecticut License and ARRT Certification with BD and CT modalities
- Maintaining superior diagnostic imaging in accordance with standardized procedures
- Excellent patient and people skills
- Ability to maintain a great knowledge in human anatomy and cross section anatomy, and pathology
- Proper positioning skills, and appropriate utilization of protocols and scanning techniques
Pay Range $45/hr - $48/hr
The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
