Job Title: Janitorial Area Manager

Job Summary:

The Janitorial Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall coordination and supervision of project managers and individual sites. This role ensures customer satisfaction through the delivery of quality service, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and develop hourly team members
  • Understand and champion the company's strategic principles, core values, and people culture
  • Recruit and hire employees to ensure accounts are properly staffed according to contract specifications
  • Assign duties and tasks to employees, inspect work for cleanliness and completion, and determine work procedures
  • Prepare and review required paperwork, such as time sheets, accident reports, and employee training records
  • Establish relationships with customers by visiting accounts regularly to ensure high-quality service
  • Resolve problems and complaints in a timely manner to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Document customer contacts and concerns, and assist with follow-through to resolve issues
  • Monitor assigned accounts for work order opportunities and additional work that can be added to the contract
  • Ensure all mandatory quality control site visits are completed and recorded

Requirements:

  • Business-level English proficiency in verbal and written communication
  • Two to three years of management experience in a related field, with janitorial industry experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments
  • Customer service and satisfaction mindset
  • High school degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership effectiveness, ability to motivate, train, and develop team members
  • Carpet care and cleaning knowledge, including floor care chemicals and equipment operation
  • Thoroughness, dependability, tact, and courtesy, with the ability to work in a team environment and use good judgment
  • Effective communication with customers, both internal and external
  • Organized, proven problem-solving abilities, and ability to multitask, prioritize job responsibilities
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus, depending on account

Physical Demands:

This job may require lifting objects up to 50lbs, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25lbs. Other physical demands include reaching, climbing, stooping, and kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, writing, and seeing.

Licenses and Certifications:

A valid state driver's license is required to fulfill the duties of this position, as significant travel between accounts is necessary. Reliable transportation is also required to allow for necessary travel to various accounts within the assigned territory.
