Couchbase is in search of a remarkable security expert to spearhead our security operations initiative.Your role will be pivotal in defining, developing, managing, and enhancing Couchbase's capabilities in Threat Analysis, Threat Hunting, Forensics Analysis, Incident Response, Data Loss Prevention, Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing, and Security Monitoring.
This highly visible position will be essential in fortifying Couchbase's security framework.The ideal candidate will possess a robust hands-on technical background, outstanding leadership qualities, and a proven track record of advancing security initiatives that align with organizational objectives.
This position will function as an individual contributor in a hands-on, technically focused role with a significant impact on our Security Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and evaluate vulnerabilities across company assets to identify potential threats. You will be responsible for detection, containment, mitigation, and protective measures against real-time threats.
Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and manage exposure from security incidents. Establish effective incident management processes to swiftly resolve incidents while collaborating with relevant stakeholders across the organization.
Oversee the architecture review, design, and implementation of all security controls in both corporate and cloud environments.
Enhance and refine existing security processes and tools, including but not limited to SIEM, DLP, vulnerability management, email security, endpoint security, penetration testing, threat hunting, threat analysis, security monitoring, and incident response.
Collaborate with leaders across Corp IT, GRC, Product Development, Cloud SRE, and Legal teams to ensure that security and privacy initiatives are executed to specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
8+ years of relevant experience in information security, with demonstrated experience in building and managing a Security Operations Center (SOC).
Must have extensive hands-on experience with security in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Networking (Firewalls, Switches, Access Points, etc.), Operating Systems (Linux, Mac, Windows), Software Development, IAM, Key Management, Encryption, SIEM (Splunk, Rapid 7, Alienvault, etc.), DLP (Checkpoint, Proofpoint, Symantec, etc.), Email Security (Abnormal Security, Mimecast, etc.), and Endpoint Security (SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of network design, firewalls, switches, routers, DNS, Certificates, VPN, server infrastructure, virtualization, and data centers.
Strong understanding of security standards/frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SSAE 18, PCI, HIPAA, CIS, COBIT, OWASP, etc.
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels, including influencing executive leadership.
Strong oral, written, reporting, and presentation skills, with a significant emphasis on process documentation.
