Job Opportunity

The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible neurosurgeon with expertise in complex spinal surgery to join our team of skilled neurosurgeons in a highly collaborative academic environment.

The ideal candidate will have undergone fellowship training in spine and be able to apply minimally invasive spinal surgery techniques and undertake outpatient spine surgery for selected cases. Desirable candidates may also include cutting-edge technological advancements in spine surgery such as robotic spine surgery in their practice.

The position includes work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center, Birmingham Veteran's Medical Center, and the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital. The successful candidate will participate in teaching and research responsibilities and require the ability to work well with neurosurgical and critical care partners.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment and contribute to the advancement of neurosurgical care and research.

Required qualifications include an MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree, BC/BE in Neurosurgery with expertise in complex spinal surgery, and eligibility for licensure in the state of Alabama.

Preferred qualifications include participation in cutting-edge technological advancements in spine surgery such as robotic spine surgery.
