Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist will administer specified respiratory treatments, medications, and life support to various patients, and conduct diagnostic examinations for diagnoses of cardiovascular and pulmonary ailments.
Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and life support to patients
- Conduct diagnostic examinations for diagnoses of cardiovascular and pulmonary ailments
- Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust treatments as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide education and support to patients and families
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
- Certification and registration from the National Board of Respiratory Therapy Care
- Minimum of one year experience in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current PALS, BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Work Environment:
The Respiratory Therapist will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing care to patients in a variety of settings. The working environment is generally pleasant, clean, and well-maintained. The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting, and the ability to lift 35 pounds. Persons in this position are exposed to infectious diseases, including all types of blood-borne pathogens, muscle diseases, muscle strains, falls, and needle-stick injuries.
