Job Summary


The RN Clinical Nurse I delivers professional nursing care through proficient assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with facility or department policies, procedures, and protocols under the guidance of the nursing leader.

This role includes maintaining a safe work environment and executing all job responsibilities safely while ensuring clinical and professional competency relevant to the patient population served.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collects relevant data regarding the healthcare consumer's health or situation.

2. Analyzes assessment data to identify actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.

3. Establishes expected outcomes for a personalized plan tailored to the healthcare consumer or situation.

4. Develops a plan that outlines strategies to achieve expected, measurable outcomes.

5. Implements the established plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.

6. Delegates aspects of care to appropriate healthcare personnel in accordance with applicable legal or policy guidelines.

7. Evaluates progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.

8. Practices in a manner that aligns with principles of cultural diversity and inclusion.

9. Communicates effectively across all areas of practice.

10. Collaborates with healthcare consumers and other key stakeholders in nursing practice.

11. Demonstrates leadership within the professional practice setting and the nursing profession.

12. Integrates evidence and research findings into nursing practice.

13. Contributes to the enhancement of quality nursing practice.


14. Assesses one's own and others' nursing practice against professional standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.

Utilizes appropriate resources to plan, deliver, and maintain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and financially responsible.

Physical Requirements
Work involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be capable of lifting and supporting up to 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficient English communication skills are required. Must possess intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, along with finger dexterity. Critical thinking and the ability to concentrate are essential. Must be able to respond promptly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing is required.

Education, Experience, and Certifications
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. A BSN is preferred. Current Basic Life Support certification is mandatory as per policy guidelines.

A current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is required. If declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency, you must meet the licensure requirements in your home state; for Non-National License Compact states, a current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner is required in the state where the RN practices.
