Job Title: Experienced Lead Cook

We are seeking a skilled and experienced lead cook to join our team at Golden Corral. As a lead cook, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, quantity, and freshness of all hot choice buffet products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare hot choice buffet products, including carving and display cooking products, according to Golden Corral recipes and procedures.
  • Grill all items according to Golden Corral standards to ensure quality.
  • Ensure that every fried product is always fresh and hot.
  • Restock items at the display cooking station if the buffet attendant is unavailable.
  • Assist guests with carved meat options if the carver is unavailable.
  • Complete use and following of the buffet production system to ensure quality and shelf life compliance.
Operational Excellence:
  • Maintain the correct temperature of all products during cooking, holding, and serving.
  • Use the hot choice buffet production guide and the display cooking hot cook production guide to maintain an inventory of all hot cook products.
  • Conduct opening and closing administrative procedures.
  • Properly maintain equipment according to the equipment maintenance manual.
  • Restock and rotate food products by using the first-in, first-out method (FIFO).
  • Take inventory of products and check build-to with the manager at the beginning and end of each shift.
Cleanliness:
  • Ensure that the hot cook area and all smallwares are clean and check dishes for cleanliness before using them.
  • Perform duty roster and ensure cleanliness, service, and quality standards are met.
  • Follow local health department laws.
  • Keep the char grill clean and scraped to ensure product quality and sanitation.
Guest Service:
  • Ensure that hot choice buffet products, including display cooking products, are always hot and fresh for guests.
  • Know and follow position responsibilities as they relate to just-in-time delivery.
  • Be friendly and courteous to guests and assist them with products.
  • Maintain professional communication at all times.
