Job Summary

Crothall Healthcare is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Fire Alarm System Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems in healthcare, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation of fire alarm systems, including all related equipment
  • Service and maintenance of fire alarm systems, including troubleshooting and repair
  • Oversee and direct project completion deadlines, meet scheduling requirements, and exceed goals established by the fire alarm service superintendent
  • Ensure project results are achieved within financial and productivity budgets
  • Accurately complete and process paperwork and electronic or paperless required by the office and corporate management systems
  • Ensure all equipment, including specialty valves and fire pumps, are installed in strict compliance with manufacturer's requirements
  • Conduct and coordinate necessary testing of the system, ensuring required certifications are complete
  • Instruct and train helpers, apprentices, or other personnel in the basic process of service, repair, and/or system installation
  • Coordinate daily work schedules and direct daily tasks and productivity of assigned employees
  • Maintain inventory on vehicle
  • Perform all other duties assigned
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA requirements, and industry standards for fire alarm systems installation
  • Experience with a variety of system manufacturers
  • Troubleshooting skills, including researching online, system manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Experience with conduit bending, understanding of blueprints, and wiring schematics and layout of system installations
  • Exceptional communication skills with customers, other field personnel, office staff, and sub-contractors and/or coworkers and management
  • Must be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments, and other interruptions that may impact pre-established courses of action for completing or progressing with projects and assignments
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
  • Two to three years of experience in installation of low voltage systems
