Facilities Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Technician to join our team at Friends of Youth. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our buildings, utility systems, equipment, and grounds.

As a Facilities Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Scheduling day-to-day facility operations, including routine maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and emergency situations
- Utilizing your expertise in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and machinist work to maintain and repair building systems and equipment
- Overseeing the work of third-party vendors and subcontractors to ensure high-quality results
- Conducting regular fire safety inspections, testing smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, escape lights, and alarm systems
You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all work performed, preparing and overseeing preventative maintenance scheduling, and responding to work requests in a timely and prioritized manner.
In addition to your technical skills and experience, we are looking for someone who is able to engage with diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner and demonstrate a commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of related experience, and a valid Washington State driver's license. You will also need to pass a criminal history check, TB test, and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
