We are seeking a talented individual to spearhead the development of cutting-edge market data applications hosted on public Cloud platforms. This role involves enhancing enterprise software solutions utilizing C++. The successful candidate will devise technical strategies that align with observability metrics, adhere to open standards, and leverage SRE golden signals through programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, Groovy, and Shell Scripting. The position requires troubleshooting complex technical challenges across systems, networks, and applications within Unix/Linux environments. The candidate will also be responsible for deploying software applications in Cloud environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS), GCP, and Azure, ultimately delivering business solutions through the creation of sophisticated software applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovates and develops original technical solutions for ongoing development projects.
- Designs applications or subsystems for major projects across multiple platforms.
- Creates applications for various projects that support several divisional initiatives.
- Facilitates and conducts all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in planning and executing user acceptance testing.
- Produces comprehensive documentation for multiple applications that support various corporate initiatives.
- Oversees post-installation testing to identify and resolve any issues.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate complexity.
- Engages in complex assignments and often manages multiple phases of a project.
- Conducts independent and intricate technical and functional analyses for various projects supporting multiple initiatives.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign education) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field, along with three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or a closely related role) focused on developing high-performance enterprise applications using C++ in a Linux/AWS environment.
Alternatively, a Master’s degree (or equivalent foreign education) in the aforementioned fields, accompanied by one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or a closely related role) developing high-performance enterprise applications using C++ in a Linux/AWS environment.
Skills and Expertise:
The ideal candidate must also demonstrate:
- Expertise in developing, debugging, maintaining, and managing complex infrastructures for high-performance applications using C++ on Linux systems; with a focus on multithreading and inter-process communication in event-driven and server-client architectures using synchronization primitives; ensuring adherence to high code quality standards based on Object-Oriented (OO) principles, design patterns, and Standard Template Libraries.
- Experience in building containerized systems using Docker and Kubernetes (kubectl, pods, replica sets, namespaces, config map) and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions in Cloud environments (AWS); ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of applications.
- Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and propose solution enhancements for production issues using bash scripting and Python; developing tools in Python utilizing logging, JSON packages, and Python collections in a Linux environment; analyzing memory leaks and addressing security vulnerabilities identified in Sonar Scan using debugging tools (Valgrind/GDB).
- Experience supporting the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) -- analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment in accordance with Agile methodologies (Scrum and defect triaging); utilizing Source Control versioning (GitHub) and bug tracking (Jira) tools.
