Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Scaffold Builder to join our team. This individual will be responsible for erecting, altering, and dismantling scaffolds, as well as performing risk assessments and emergency procedures specific to working over railroad tracks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, alter, and dismantle scaffolds according to OSHA guidelines and manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Cooperate with the Project Manager and customers in carrying out assigned work.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Direct helpers/apprentices in proper work performance and job requirements.
  • Perform all work in the safest possible manner and immediately correct any unsafe conditions.
  • Keep detailed records of inspections, safety meetings, and any incidents or issues that arise during the scaffold installation and use.
  • Keep the job site clean by keeping it clear of all trash, unused materials, etc.

Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:

  • Able to effectively communicate with employees and supervision.
  • 2+ years of experience in scaffold building.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be highly productive, experienced in his craft, and familiar with the use of all equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for the safe erection, modification, and dismantling of all types of scaffolds.
  • Must be able to follow directions.
  • Must have knowledge of safe work practices.
  • Must have an active TWIC card or be able to obtain one.
  • Understanding of load capacities, structural stability, and how to properly anchor and support scaffold.
  • Must be able to understand oral and written instructions, sketches, and diagrams.
  • Ability to work from scissor lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolds.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and kneel often in confined spaces.
  • Work in an indoor and outdoor environment including field, yard, and shop locations.
  • Utilize necessary Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Own and have proficiency with all necessary tools for the craft.

Travel: Job performed at one site.
