Job SummaryThe Machine Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, as well as diagnosing and remedying operating problems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine repair projects under general supervision, with guidance and/or immediate supervision provided on critical or extensive repair projects.
- Diagnose and remedy operating problems, disassemble, inspect, and overhaul injection molding machine components.
- Assist higher classified Mechanics in correcting machine operating problems and confer with higher classified Mechanics or Supervisor on the need for repairs and/or replacement parts.
- Fitting and aligning precision mechanisms, drives, bearings, etc., and layout and install molding machines, equipment, etc.
- Broad, general background in the installation and maintenance of machines and process equipment.
- Familiarity with supporting systems, including hydraulics, heat, and electrical controls, etc.
- Additional schooling and training may be required.
