We are seeking a tax focused CPA with 5+ years of current public accounting experience. This role requires the candidate to have a genuine interest in developing a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ business and tax environments, as well as providing a proactive year-round tax planning approach.

Our Compensation plan is negotiable. This position will be paid a monthly base with bonuses based on production. We don't have year-round full time tax work but we're looking for a long term year-round employee. Additionally, our primary focus will be on candidates willing and able to work in an office setting.

A successful team member enjoys working with a wide variety of clients and demonstrates organizational skills, technical skills, and effective communication. You will be in a position to work closely with engagement partners, interact with great clients, and will have opportunities for staff supervision and advancement.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of tax returns of varying types and complexities

• Review imported data for accuracy

• Manage workload to meet service level agreements for each engagement, be able to prioritize work and complete in a timely manner

• Update and complete workpapers and if necessary create missing items list for tax data not received

• Provide mentorship to other tax staff; assist in the growth, development and training of the team

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ tax experience in public accounting firm, Master of Taxation a plus
• CPA required
• Experienced in preparation and tax planning with partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, trusts and high net-worth individuals
• Demonstrates effective written & oral communication skills
• Highly organized with the ability to efficiently manage projects
• Demonstrates excellent team skills, positive attitude, and high ethical standards
• CCH Axcess Tax (Prosystem Tax) software experience will receive higher consideration
• Moving to Lacerte after the spring 2025 tax season (most likely)
• Team oriented, flexible & fun
