Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Calibration Specialist to join our team at Amentum. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instrument calibration and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.

The Calibration Specialist will be responsible for calibrating a wide range of instruments, including flow meters, pressure gauges, and temperature sensors. They will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory standards, laboratory systems, and reference materials.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also have a strong understanding of measurement uncertainty and be able to interpret equipment operation manuals and laboratory operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate instruments to precise standards
  • Maintain laboratory standards and systems
  • Contribute to procedure and technique improvement
  • Generate calibration certificates and reports

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting
  • Associate degree or equivalent training in instrument calibration
  • Strong understanding of measurement uncertainty
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Science or Engineering
  • Familiarity with plate reader, pH meter, and spectrophotometer operation
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited Calibration Laboratory

Work Environment:

  • Industrial indoor setting, with occasional outdoor work
  • Some industrial and laboratory hazards present
