Position Overview: Maintenance Mechanic Technician Level 2
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance on various plant process machinery, including wrappers, conveyors, checkweighers, metal detectors, and more.
- Execute modifications, component replacements, troubleshooting, calibration, adjustments, performance checks, lubrication, and start-up inspections of equipment.
- Disassemble and prepare machinery for sanitation during shutdowns, then reassemble and conduct pre-start-up checks for operational readiness.
- Assist operators during the start-up phase.
- Manage mechanical projects, including planning, material procurement, and major overhauls of assigned equipment.
- Oversee maintenance and training on ink-jet code dating systems, ensuring proper documentation and program management.
- Provide training and support for Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives within the department and facility.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Technical Advisor.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Willingness to learn basic electrical skills.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Aptitude for learning computer systems and operations.
- Ability to operate all equipment, including wrappers and related machinery.
- Maintain an absenteeism rate of 3% or less, with a commendable record in teamwork and job performance, and no disciplinary actions.
- Must pass level 2 of Maintenance Testing.
Experience:
Previous maintenance experience with packaging and industrial equipment or completion of one year of military or technical schooling in mechanical fields.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for 4.5 hours.
- Walk for 4.5 hours.
- Sit for 1.5 hours.
- Operate a forklift for 0.5 hours.
- Lift and carry up to 125 pounds for 1 hour.
Compensation and Benefits:
Production wage with monthly progression.
