Position Overview:
The Housekeeping Team Leader is tasked with overseeing and coordinating housekeeping operations within designated areas, while also assuming the responsibilities of the Housekeeping Manager in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of Room Attendants' performance within assigned sections to ensure adherence to standards and productivity levels.
  • In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Housekeeping Manager, inspect all VIP rooms and communicate their availability to the Front Office, following hotel standards.
  • Supervise the closing procedures of floors at the end of the day, ensuring that Room Attendants' carts are clean and fully stocked.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of daily assignment records to the Housekeeping Office.
  • Maintain strict key control protocols.
  • Manage items for "Lost and Found" in accordance with established standards.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and organization of Room Attendants' carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
  • Oversee daily task assignments, ensuring that Room Attendants and House Attendants have clear work assignments.
  • Carry an active pager/radio to maintain communication with the Front Office and/or Engineering throughout the shift.
  • Report on the status of all out-of-order rooms under the Housekeeping Department's supervision to the Guest Services Manager, in line with standards.
  • Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance, forwarding them to Engineering, and follow up until completion.
  • Assist in training new Housekeeping staff members.
  • May be required to perform cleaning duties as business needs dictate.
  • Ensure the completion of cleaning projects on a biannual basis.
  • Strive to achieve overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience of two to three years in a hotel or related field.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact attentively, courteously, and service-oriented with all levels of employees and guests.

Salary: $21.00/hr
