Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure-track faculty position in Veterinary/One Health Microbiomics at South Dakota State University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in microbiology, genomics, and bioinformatics, with a focus on veterinary and one health applications.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or DVM degree in a relevant field, with a strong publication record and experience in extramural grant funding. They will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an independent research program, with a focus on veterinary and one health microbiomics. They will also be responsible for teaching graduate-level courses, mentoring students, and contributing to departmental service.

This is a 12-month, 100% time, benefit-eligible position. The salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an independent research program in veterinary and one health microbiomics
  • Teach graduate-level courses in microbiology and related fields
  • Mentor students and postdoctoral researchers
  • Contribute to departmental service and outreach activities
