Principal Ecologist

Anchor QEA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Environmental Restoration Practice in the Northwest region. As a Principal-level ecologist, you will be responsible for expanding our presence in the market, identifying new business opportunities, and driving the growth of our restoration practice.

• Lead comprehensive scope development, fee negotiations, project schedule and deliverable milestones development, technical and financial project management activities, client and stakeholder coordination, project implementation, and subcontractor administration
• Provide mentorship, technical oversight, and quality reviews on restoration projects
• Identify strategic teaming partners and build relationships to support staff resource and hiring needs
• Provide active mentorship and oversight of junior and mid-level staff

• Proven ability to generate new business and grow a habitat and ecological restoration practice in the environmental consulting field, with a focus on federal, state, and local clients
• Habitat restoration design experience, including river restoration, estuary and beach intertidal/backshore restoration, dam removal, compensatory mitigation, habitat/wetland banks, and general mitigation
• Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Sciences, Civil Engineering, or restoration-related field
• 10+ years of relevant experience in habitat and ecological restoration planning and/or design, project management, staff management, and sales with regional and national clients
