Responsibilities
  • Maintain supplies, materials, and records of treatment.
  • Set up instruments, equipment, and supplies as directed by the dentist or dental hygienist.
  • Assist the dentist in providing dental care to residents.
  • Prepare patients for treatment.
  • Ensure proper clean up, packaging, and sterilizing of instruments.
  • Assist in instruction of patients in proper dental hygiene.
  • Accurately record services in the patient's medical record.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or GED certificate.
  • Experience working in a dental setting and/or correctional health care preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Preferably registered or certified by a professional association.
Work Environment

The Dental Assistant will work in a dental clinic setting within the correctional facility, interacting with inmates, correctional staff, and health care personnel. The work environment may include temperature extremes and physical demands.
