Responsibilities- Maintain supplies, materials, and records of treatment.
- Set up instruments, equipment, and supplies as directed by the dentist or dental hygienist.
- Assist the dentist in providing dental care to residents.
- Prepare patients for treatment.
- Ensure proper clean up, packaging, and sterilizing of instruments.
- Assist in instruction of patients in proper dental hygiene.
- Accurately record services in the patient's medical record.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- High School Graduate or GED certificate.
- Experience working in a dental setting and/or correctional health care preferred.
- CPR certification required.
- Preferably registered or certified by a professional association.
The Dental Assistant will work in a dental clinic setting within the correctional facility, interacting with inmates, correctional staff, and health care personnel. The work environment may include temperature extremes and physical demands.
