Proton therapy is renowned for its precision in targeting tumors while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue, thereby reducing the likelihood of side effects.
As the sole proton therapy facility in the region, we are committed to offering cutting-edge technology and treatment options to patients throughout the area.
Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Lead Therapist, Medical Physicist, and Radiation Oncologist, you will administer therapeutic radiation to patients across all age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Your role will also involve fostering positive interactions with patients, their families, and medical staff to enhance overall departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately position patients for treatment using prescribed devices.
- Administer prescribed radiation doses to designated body areas, adhering to established protocols.
- Ensure radiation therapy equipment is functioning correctly through regular checks.
- Prepare and construct necessary equipment, including immobilization and protection devices.
- Review patient prescriptions, diagnoses, and charts to ensure proper treatment.
- Educate and reassure patients and their families, addressing their questions and concerns regarding treatment and aftercare.
- Document patient data accurately and manage equipment settings to regulate dosage.
- Monitor patients during and after treatment, reporting any unusual reactions to the physician.
- Uphold radiation safety principles for patients, self, and others.
- Maintain comprehensive records of radiation dosages, treatment schedules, and patient responses.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Communicate treatment schedules clearly to patients and notify them of any changes.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and addressing patient satisfaction concerns.
- Train and supervise new staff or students in radiation therapy practices.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and universal precautions.
- Engage in effective written and verbal communication to convey necessary information.
- Comply with organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards, completing required educational assignments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

ARRT (T) certification must be obtained within six months of graduation from the program. CPR certification is also required.
