Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- Experience: 4-6 years of relevant development experience, ideally within the renewable energy sector.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of renewable energy development principles, local zoning regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in GIS, mapping tools, SmartSheets/CRM, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Analytical Skills: Strong computational and analytical abilities are essential.
- Personal Attributes: A highly motivated individual capable of managing diverse relationships and complex projects simultaneously, demonstrating creativity and critical thinking.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Flexibility: Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $185,000, plus bonuses and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Director of Development, Acquisitions.
- Lead the due diligence process for potential project acquisitions, including early-stage and traditional Notice to Proceed (NTP) agreements.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders to finalize critical project agreements.
- Oversee external consultants and legal teams involved in project development.
- Evaluate community distributed generation project portfolios, particularly in the East Coast and Midwest regions.
- Collaborate with sellers to identify and mitigate risks impacting project feasibility.
- Support the M&A team by drafting and reviewing essential transaction documents.
- Manage project data in collaboration with Construction and Project Finance teams.
- Contribute to strategic planning by assessing new market opportunities.
- Maintain comprehensive due diligence logs and lead review sessions with stakeholders.
- Represent the company at internal meetings, project sites, and community engagement events.
