Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred experience of 2+ years in bookkeeping, account services, or retail banking.
- Minimum of 2 years of teller experience.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience, particularly in opening retail bank accounts.
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding customer service abilities.
- Must meet NMLS qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a high energy level and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Proactively promote digital banking products to clients. Possess advanced knowledge of the bank's electronic services, including online and mobile banking setup, treasury management, and troubleshooting for customers.
- Facilitate the opening of new accounts and services, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and disclosures are issued.
- Maintain internal controls and obtain required documentation to identify customers, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Consult with loan applicants, collecting necessary applications and financial documents.
- Assist clients with Individual Retirement Account services, including contributions and distributions, and open new IRAs with the appropriate documentation.
- Support additional services such as safe deposit box access, ATM and debit card requests, and check orders.
- Perform teller duties as needed, including processing deposits, verifying cash, and balancing transactions with precision.
- Assist customers with interactive teller machines.
- Understand and apply check endorsement standards.
- Make informed decisions based on transaction risk and customer expectations, providing assistance to employees as necessary.
- Comply with all applicable federal and state regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws.
- Set up and unlock online banking for customers.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to various branch assignments as required.
Essential Functions
- Relationship and Business Development: Open new accounts by preparing necessary paperwork and applications. Identify unmet needs of clients and recommend suitable products and services. Promote new and enhanced offerings, engaging in joint calls with other departments.
- Customer Service: Address customer inquiries regarding account statuses and discrepancies, providing solutions. Process loan payments and manage cash and check deposits accurately.
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. The physical demands of this role include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and handling various tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Employees must maintain a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation for travel within the bank's operational area.
