Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate RN Lactation Consultant to join our team at North Suburban Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide lactation consultation and support to patients, promoting a positive breastfeeding experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide lactation consultation and support to patients, including skin-to-skin contact, phone triage, and lactation services.
- Work collaboratively with NICU, Mom/Baby, and Labor & Delivery staff to promote a consistent lactation program and ensure continuity of care for breastfeeding success.
- Participate in Mom Baby monthly staff meetings and contribute to the development of lactation education programs.
- Assist customers at the Baby on the Weigh Club and provide lactation support as needed.
Requirements:
- Lactation certification from an approved training program.
- Graduated from Nursing School.
- Must possess practical skills, clinical judgment, and knowledge of the lactation field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong background in adult education, interpersonal skills, health professional education, and developing, implementing, and monitoring teaching activities.
- Current knowledge of various interventions and equipment used in supporting breastfeeding mothers and infants.
