Position Summary
The Home Loan Advisor II is responsible for cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing member relationships within a designated area by originating residential first mortgages, equity loans, and specialized mortgage products. This role demands exceptional relationship management skills to ensure outstanding service delivery to members and collaboration with branch teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to various branch locations to facilitate the origination of residential mortgage loans, while actively participating in marketing initiatives aimed at promoting first mortgages and equity loans.
- Serve as a resource for Home Loan Advisors, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and mortgage guidelines.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, USDA, Bond, and SHIP guidelines as they pertain to mortgage origination.
- Originate specialized mortgage products, including but not limited to First Time Homebuyers, Jumbo loans, Mobile Home & Land, and various government-backed loans.
- Conduct comprehensive interviews, assess credit applications, and communicate clearly with members regarding the mortgage process, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and submitted accurately.
- Act as the primary contact for members, branch staff, and processing teams, maintaining clear communication throughout the mortgage loan process.
- Participate in branch sales meetings and contribute as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Assist in organizing educational seminars for first-time homebuyers and other related topics.
- Consistently exceed performance metrics established by the Home Loan Advisor Supervisor.
- Support VyStar's mission to be the primary financial institution for our members by delivering service that is both efficient and courteous.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling VyStar products and services, making referrals to other business partners as appropriate.
- Exhibit VyStar Excellence behaviors, focusing on member engagement and satisfaction.
- Adhere to VyStar's core values and ethical standards in all interactions.
- Work towards achieving departmental and organizational goals, providing recommendations for process improvements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of experience in mortgage lending or have advanced through the Home Loan Advisor Certification. Candidates must pass Federal NMLS training and maintain all licensing requirements. A valid driver's license is required, along with strong communication and time management skills.
Attention to detail, organizational abilities, and problem-solving skills are essential. Familiarity with conventional, VA, FHA, and equity loan financing, as well as knowledge of relevant regulations, is preferred.
Education
A two-year college degree is the minimum educational requirement, with work experience considered at a rate of 2:1. Candidates must comply with all regulations as a registered mortgage loan originator.
