Job Summary

">

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our Student Support Team. The successful candidate will provide multi-disciplinary interventions, services, and support to ensure that all students are on a path to college and career readiness.

Responsibilities

">
  • ">
  • Screening, testing, diagnosing, and consulting with students, teachers, and parents to identify areas of need.">
  • Developing research-supported speech interventions for classroom implementation.">
  • Keeping organized data collection for students in RTI and Special Education.">
  • Conducting initial evaluations and re-evaluations, and administering necessary assessments.">
  • Writing reports using a reader-friendly index and explaining evaluation findings to parents and students in clear, understandable language with cultural sensitivity.">
  • Abiding by a 45-day turnaround time from date of receipt of referral packet.">

Treatment Services

  • ">
  • Providing group and individual sessions as indicated by the Individual Education Plan (IEP).">
  • Writing annual IEP goals/objectives in language that empowers students to transfer intervention strategies to classroom and academic performance.">
  • Participating in annual IEP meetings, as needed.">
  • Writing monthly progress notes as required by Medicaid regulations – treatment ties directly to IEP goals/objectives; willingness to be trained on and to use electronic encounter tracking system.">
  • Writing progress reports toward achieving goals and objectives on IEPs to be sent home with report cards every 9 weeks.">

  • Maintaining positive, supportive relationships with families.">

Requirements

">
  • ">
  • Master's degree in Communication Disorders or related field.">
  • Certification/ license in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP, CF-SLP, SLPA). ">
  • Valid Louisiana license, required for SLP.">
  • Degree in communication disorders.">
  • Ability to travel between school sites.">
  • Prior clinical or school-based experience providing speech therapy to students, preferably in a school serving low-income families.">
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team.">
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.">
  • Strong communication skills.">
  • A professional demeanor and a desire to have fun while working hard.">

Salary and Benefits

">

The salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additionally, KIPP New Orleans Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage and retirement.
