Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Infusion Cancer Center team at St. John's Riverside Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care, managing staff performance, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the nursing staff within the Infusion Cancer Center, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.
- Address patient concerns and complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring patient satisfaction.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvement initiatives, as necessary.
- Provide monthly infusion scorecard.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of care and safety.
- Collaborate with the quality improvement team to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure Oncology Policy and Procedures are updated/ reviewed every 2 years.
- Monthly presentation to Montefiore & SJRH administration.
- Complete daily chemo audits.
- Manage the department's budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources while maintaining quality patient care.
- Participate in the selection and evaluation of new equipment and technologies.
- Submit abstract or bills for payment.
- Submit yearly cancer PI report.
- Work closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Facilitate effective communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Represent the Infusion Cancer Center in hospital committees and external meetings as needed.
- Provide ongoing education and training for nursing staff to keep abreast of the latest developments in oncology and infusion therapy.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
- Lead and participate in staff meetings, in-services, and other educational activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in oncology or infusion therapy.
- Previous management or supervisory experience required.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
- Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
