Nurse Manager - Infusion Cancer Center

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Infusion Cancer Center team at St. John's Riverside Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care, managing staff performance, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the nursing staff within the Infusion Cancer Center, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient care and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.
  • Address patient concerns and complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring patient satisfaction.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement improvement initiatives, as necessary.
  • Provide monthly infusion scorecard.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of care and safety.
  • Collaborate with the quality improvement team to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure Oncology Policy and Procedures are updated/ reviewed every 2 years.
  • Monthly presentation to Montefiore & SJRH administration.
  • Complete daily chemo audits.
  • Manage the department's budget, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources while maintaining quality patient care.
  • Participate in the selection and evaluation of new equipment and technologies.
  • Submit abstract or bills for payment.
  • Submit yearly cancer PI report.
  • Work closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Facilitate effective communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Represent the Infusion Cancer Center in hospital committees and external meetings as needed.
  • Provide ongoing education and training for nursing staff to keep abreast of the latest developments in oncology and infusion therapy.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Lead and participate in staff meetings, in-services, and other educational activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in oncology or infusion therapy.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
