Position Summary

The Bar Back is a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences at Joe's on Newbury. As a Bar Back, you will be responsible for maintaining a well-stocked bar, ensuring seamless service, and providing genuine hospitality to our guests.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards to represent the Tavistock Restaurant Collection brand.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by establishing emotional connections with guests and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Contribute to the overall teamwork and success of the restaurant by communicating effectively with team members and guests.
  • Presents the best offerings to guests, never selling them anything, and determines their needs to make recommendations and enhance their dining experience.
  • Restock liquor, beer, and wine throughout the shift, clean the bar area, and maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Execute beverage tray service, answer guest questions, and adhere to all alcohol awareness procedures.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and alert a manager immediately, process payments accurately, and communicate with managers and hosts regarding table availability.
  • Follow up with guests to ensure great guest satisfaction and maintain a professional and gracious demeanor at all times.

Position Qualifications

Requirements

  • Other Requirements: Must meet local, legal minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages and possess coordination skills for proper pouring and carrying of drinks and plates.
