Position Overview:


Under the guidance of a Supervisor, the Administrative Clerk (BPA1) engages in a variety of clerical and repetitive manual tasks in Book Print, Card Print, Quality Control, and Mail Out operations, along with other ancillary duties to support travel document personalization activities.

The Administrative Clerk (BPA1) develops a foundational understanding of the current travel document issuance software and computer operating systems, which includes retrieving individual application details, updating applications to accelerate processing, data entry, and generating mailing labels.


Job Responsibilities:
Book/Card Print:

- Maintain oversight and accountability of passport books and cards.
- Review application data and printed materials for accuracy and quality.
- Reject or remove applications and printed materials with discrepancies.
- Verify individual usage reports for books/cards.
- Complete and maintain Batch Tracking sheets or other documentation.
- Prioritize tasks, including expedited requests and regular batches.
- Operate and care for computer equipment, including passport printers.

Quality Control:

- Utilize optical character recognition to verify passport data.
- Write data onto the passport-integrated chip using specialized equipment.
- Assess the quality of passports for acceptability.
- Perform data entry and utilize computer screens for accuracy verification.
- Print appropriate passport endorsements as necessary.
- Generate address labels and affix them to mailing envelopes, ensuring proper dispatch.

- Manage all aspects of mail-out operations, including the use of automated postal machinery.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required, with a minimum of 2 years of office experience.
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Ability to successfully complete a Background Investigation.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a Government Agency Moderate Risk Public Trust security clearance.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.

Skills and Experience:
- Proficient personal computer skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, standing, sitting, reaching, twisting, sealing envelopes, filing, and reading.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Must be adept at operating personalization-printing equipment, conducting quality control checks on printed materials, and adhering to established document sequencing protocols.
