CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels (CSRH-NB) is a comprehensive, 94-bed facility located in a vibrant area, continually evolving to cater to the growing population of New Braunfels. The facility employs innovative technologies and methodologies, featuring an Outpatient Imaging Center, orthopedic and surgical services, rehabilitation, a modernized birthing center with 24/7 neonatal support, emergency services, a wound care/hyperbaric center, 3D mammography, and extensive cardiac care, ranging from diagnostics to open-heart procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meets the expectations outlined in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• In alignment with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments per established protocols; monitors for side effects and the effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Accurately documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses educational needs and provides instruction to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.

Qualifications:
Experience:
- Preferred: Perinatal RN Residency or recent practice in a Perinatal Setting.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in the relevant nursing specialty.
Education:
RN License in the state of employment or compact BLS required. Current STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification from one of the following courses: Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor at the time of hire or prior to the end of orientation for experienced nurses; within 90 days of hire for new graduates and experienced nurses new to the specialty, then required to maintain course certification thereafter. Current NRP certification at the time of hire for experienced nurses; within 60 days for new graduates and experienced nurses new to the specialty, then required to maintain certification thereafter.
