Job Description

We are seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to help us build a stronger and more satisfied community of learners. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for growing our online presence, engaging with learners, and promoting user-generated content to foster a sense of belonging and engagement within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow our online presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Respond to comments and messages on social media platforms and manage our online communities, including our Facebook group or Discord community.
  • Promote and amplify user-generated content to encourage learner engagement and participation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in community management, social media, and forums to continuously improve our strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the strategic development of community initiatives and offer insights and recommendations to senior management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Professional fluency or native level in English and American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Deep insights into Deaf culture and community.
  • Actively engaged in the Deaf community.
  • Awareness of cultural sensitivities and nuances when it comes to Deafness.
  • Proven experience in customer support and/or community moderation/management.
  • Experience with social media platforms and community platforms.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to adapt your style to our tone of voice and brand identity.
