Organization Overview:
Artists ReEnvisioning Tomorrow Inc (ART Inc) is a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to arts and culture in Peoria, established in 2018 by Jonathon and Nikki Romain. Each year, ART Inc offers arts education opportunities to nearly 500 students, striving to create programs that empower all students to imagine, create, and realize their artistic potential, irrespective of their financial circumstances.
Role Purpose:
The Arts Education Facilitator is tasked with delivering arts education classes to K-12 students as part of our In The Schools initiative. This role involves crafting engaging weekly lesson plans that introduce students to various artistic disciplines. The lesson plans should be interactive, suitable for the grade level, and designed to highlight students' creativity and their experiences in arts-integrated education.
In collaboration with Peoria Public Schools, ART Inc provides skilled teaching artists and program educators for after-school programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspire and actively engage students in the learning process.
- Establish a consistent, positive, and nurturing classroom environment with clear procedures and expectations.
- Maintain regular communication with ART Inc, 21st Century Learning Centers, and Full Service Community Schools Staff regarding program status.
- Oversee classroom maintenance, including supplies and attendance records.
- Design and implement lesson plans, curriculum, and project-based learning activities within an artistic discipline.
- Monitor student engagement and ensure a safe and conducive learning atmosphere.
- Demonstrate a passion for the arts and a commitment to working with young individuals.
- Complete the necessary protocols for fingerprinting and background checks through the Peoria Public School district office.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
This position requires travel to multiple sites, necessitating independent travel to approximately four Peoria Public School locations.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
The role involves light physical effort, with occasional lifting or carrying of items up to 25 pounds and navigating stairs. There may be instances of pressure related to project or activity deadlines.
