Position Overview

Aya Locums has an urgent requirement for a locum Surgery Physician Assistant role.

Compensation: $90/hr - $120/hr

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather patient medical histories and perform thorough physical examinations.
  • Prescribe medications and oversee medication management.
  • Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Assist in surgical operations and other medical interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare professionals to formulate treatment strategies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in electronic medical records (EMRs).
  • Engage in effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid and unrestricted physician assistant (PA) license in the state of practice.
  • Profile review by the employer to ensure alignment with job requirements.
Essential Skills
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage a diverse patient caseload.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various medical environments.
  • Understanding of medical regulations and ethical standards.
  • Proficient in interpreting and analyzing medical data and laboratory results.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and related technologies.
  • Team-oriented approach to collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
Work Schedule
  • 5 shifts of 8 hours, from 19:00 to 07:00.
Educational Background
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Master of Medical Science (MMSc) or Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS).
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Ongoing medical education (CME) to uphold NCCPA certification and medical licenses.
