Purpose of the PositionThe Project Manager/Superintendent will oversee day-to-day activities, including licensing, estimating, scheduling, staffing, and project management for assigned opportunities, estimates, or projects. This role will add essential expertise to our team in Jackson, SC, supporting and expanding our operations in that location. The position will require periodic travel to set up, direct, and close out assigned projects in the field, as well as support the estimating team on electrical estimates. Experience in power generation (nuclear strongly preferred) and industrial manufacturing projects is crucial to achieving the desired outcomes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Ability to complete electrical trade exams in multiple states
- Develop project estimates based on customer-supplied RFP information, site walkdowns, and stated assumptions
- Understand crew build-ups and Unit Rate Conversions in developing estimates
- Maintain excellent relationships with clients, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and public entities
- Ensure all work is conducted in a safe manner, complying with safety and quality standards
- Assist in developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules
- Utilize project master schedules to create detailed look-ahead schedules with subcontractors
- Develop recovery strategies when project schedules or budgets are at risk
- Plan, supervise, and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors, determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools, and equipment
- Assume responsibility for productivity of trades and subcontractors, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project
- Ensure trades personnel complete necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation, and owner-specified requirements
- Ensure project construction complies with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and project schedule and budget
- Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, and stakeholders
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines
- Maintain appropriate field documentation, including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, FWP documents, etc.
- Participate in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, field engineering activities, etc.
- Maintain lines and levels – verify as-built conditions
- Monitor and control the project budget
- Perform internal and external, verbal and written status reports
- Education to include a technical college diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
- Minimum 5 years of industrial and subcontractor supervision experience in the automotive, food and beverage, manufacturing, or power generation industry (Power Generation strongly preferred)
- Ability to successfully supervise projects ranging in value from $25k to $25M
- Knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, and jurisdiction
- Good communication, organizational, and supervisory skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to read and understand CGC Cost Reports
- Basic presentation skills
- Ability to perform take-offs and read construction drawings
- Ability to pass master electrician and/or other state trade exams

Varying work locations in both field and office settings, with travel as necessary.
