Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the functionality, operation, and aesthetic condition of all feed manufacturing machinery and facilities. This role is pivotal in managing the installation, upkeep, preventive maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment within the production environment, all while prioritizing the safety of team members. The supervisor must remain attuned to customer expectations, corporate objectives, team morale, and public perception.

Key Responsibilities:

This position holds the authority to halt production and delivery in response to quality, feed safety, or employee safety concerns.

  • Oversee comprehensive maintenance of all equipment and facilities.
  • Coordinate and manage external contractor support as necessary.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of staff responsible for the repair and maintenance of buildings, facilities, equipment, and machinery.
  • Document and maintain records, including work orders, parts requisitions, daily logs, and other necessary paperwork.
  • As a Qualified Individual under the FSMA rule, apply training on animal food hygiene and safety in accordance with the company's Food Safety Plan by adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Enhance and sustain production efficiency and reliability for all equipment.

  • Demonstrates strong judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of building maintenance practices.
  • Comfortable leading a team of 8 to 10 members in work planning and execution.
  • Exhibits a safety-first mindset and is adept at enforcing safe work practices.
  • Holds a working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, and HVAC systems.
  • Experienced in root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Able to drive long-term strategies while remaining engaged with immediate plant demands.
  • Possesses strong professional communication skills.
  • Willing to adapt work schedules based on plant requirements.
  • Experienced in interpreting blueprints, part diagrams, and process flow charts.
