Position Overview: Clinical Liaison

The Clinical Liaison collaborates closely with Respiratory and CPAP/BiPAP Program Managers, as well as Sales Representatives, to ensure effective coverage at various locations. This role involves facilitating in-office and at-home setups for PAP devices, while also engaging in marketing and patient qualification efforts. Responsibilities include gathering essential medical documentation to guarantee compliant referrals and managing entries into the AdaptHealth EMR system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct setup and demonstration of respiratory therapy equipment in various settings, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
  • Assist patients with the setup of PAP devices in home, lab, and office environments during regular and after-hours as necessary.
  • Support out-of-office/home setups and in-lab configurations of PAP devices and masks.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of current HME products and services offered by AdaptHealth.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare Local Carrier Determination for PAP devices, including initial qualifications and ongoing coverage.
  • Provide technical assistance to PAP patients, referrals, and therapists.
  • Monitor patient compliance under managerial supervision using appropriate technology and tracking systems.
  • Coordinate scheduling requirements, create orders for new CPAP/BiPAP initiations, and process reorder requests.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and consult with referring physicians regarding patient care and conditions.
  • Assist in resolving client equipment issues during emergencies when appropriate.
  • Take on on-call responsibilities as per company policy.
  • Help manage inventory of respiratory equipment and supplies.
  • Report any equipment hazards or product incidents in line with company protocols.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on equipment usage and address any service-related inquiries.
  • Inform new patients about their rights, responsibilities, and the billing process, including patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Initiate the insurance verification process and communicate financial responsibilities to patients.
  • Discuss insurance coverage options with patients and arrange for payment of their financial obligations.
  • Gather all necessary information and medical documentation to ensure timely and accurate processing of referrals.
  • Conduct sales and service rounds within assigned locations to promote products and services.
  • Assist with promotional initiatives and gather referral source profile information.
  • Identify programs or initiatives that could enhance company revenues, reduce costs, or improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that diagnoses and disease states justify the need for prescribed equipment and services from a reimbursement perspective.
  • Recommend alternative equipment or services as necessary based on reimbursement guidelines.
  • Maintain proficiency in assigned Health Systems' electronic medical records and AdaptHealth electronic systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to minimize delivery costs and enhance service efficiency.
  • Adhere to procedures for using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in HME.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license from the state of residence.
