Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mobile Phlebotomist to join our team at TridentCare. As a Mobile Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in various healthcare settings, including nursing homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive your personal vehicle to client facilities as directed by the company dispatcher or assigned supervisor.
  • Follow established phlebotomy procedures for obtaining blood samples from patients.
  • Properly identify patients according to phlebotomy patient identification policy prior to drawing.
  • Ensure that specimens are properly labeled, in the proper tube, and accompanied by a completed requisition, including patient billing information prior to transport.
  • Transport PHI in accordance with phlebotomy policy.
  • Plan and organize draw schedules with attention to priority of patients.
  • Complete written logs, time sheets, and other required records in a neat and accurate manner.
  • Work cooperatively with dispatch, payroll, laboratory, and courier departments.
  • Maintain all equipment in good working order and report problems immediately to the Area Phlebotomy Supervisor.
  • Be available and ready to work when on-duty, and notify dispatch of availability for future assignments.
Requirements
  • Current clinical licensure, if required by the State.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology as it relates to laboratory purposes.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy procedures, techniques, including venipuncture, tourniquet application/removal, and decontamination of the puncture site.
  • Knowledge of required specimen preservation, adequate patient preparation, and specimen procedures.
  • A valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance.
  • Access to a vehicle in good working condition suitable to meet daily driving requirements.
  • A good driving record.
  • The ability to work under minimal supervision and accurately maintain time sheet records.
  • Understanding and knowledge of resident rights, patient care, and patient right to refuse.
  • The ability to obtain blood specimens from patients under a variety of patient conditions.
  • Proficiency in written/verbal skills in the English Language.
  • The ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, patients, public, and all staff members.
  • The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • The ability to take directions and conduct oneself in a professional manner.
