Job Title: Project Engineer

At GCON Construction, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects, working closely with the project manager and project team to ensure timely and within-budget completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the project manager in developing and implementing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Work with the project team to identify and mitigate risks, and develop strategies to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with trade partners and vendors to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including critical path method (CPM) scheduling and long lead matrix.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, including percent plan complete (PPC) and variances.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, and develop and implement safety plans and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the project manager.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in project engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CMiC, PlanGrid, BIM 360, and other construction software platforms.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Project Engineer.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing/Walking/Sitting: Workday is combination of standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Legs: Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Hands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use.
  • Vision: Visual acuity in near, mid, and far range. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination.
  • Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment.
  • Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio.
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 40lbs.
  • Bending/Twisting.
  • Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling.
