About the Role
As a Psychiatric Technician at Gateways Hospital & Mental Health Center, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect psychiatric care to promote the comfort, safety, and well-being of assigned patients. Your responsibilities will include performing basic nursing care, monitoring patient observations, maintaining accurate documentation, and assisting with patient education and activities.

Responsibilities
- Perform direct basic nursing care to promote patient comfort and safety
- Monitor patient observations and report important unusual observations to the charge nurse
- Maintain accurate, legible documentation in dietary sheets, 15-min check sheets, point sheets, and contraband sheet
- Assist with providing a clean, comfortable, and therapeutic environment, including cleaning and laundry
- Implement time out and 1:1 observation as per hospital orders
- Transport and accompany patients on required hospital appointments

Requirements
- Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance
- TB clearance
- California Drivers License
- Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier
- Fire and Safety Training
- CPR Certification
- CPI

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
