Psychiatric Technician II, Correctional Health Specialist

Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Psychiatric Technician II, Correctional Health Specialist to work in our correctional facilities. As a member of our team, you will assist professional staff members in the delivery of mental health services and provide direct and indirect patient care to clients who are mentally ill or emotionally disturbed. Your primary responsibilities will include applying principles of mental health in relationships with clients, observing and evaluating client condition, recording and reporting significant changes, and providing direct and indirect patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Apply principles of mental health in relationships with clients as a member of a Psychiatric Mobile Response Team, Clinical Behavioral Management Response Team, crisis intervention team or therapeutic team at an outpatient or inpatient facility.
- Observe, evaluate, record and report significant changes in client condition.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care, including helping clients with personal hygiene and recording measures of physical condition such as pulse, temperature, respiration, weight and body mass index.
- Aid or restrain clients to prevent injury to themselves or others.
- Prepare appropriate forms in connection with emergency calls, evaluation of client condition and maintenance of client records.
- Assist professional staff members in providing and documenting occupational, recreational and vocational therapy programs related to the client's treatment plan.
- Administer prescribed medications to clients in acute psychiatric settings.
To be successful in this role, you must have a valid and active license as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. You should also have experience assisting in the delivery of psychiatric services to emotionally disturbed or mentally ill clients. In addition, you must be able to work any shift, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, and be willing to work at any correctional facility.

SalaryThe estimated salary range for this position is $46,693 - $62,904 per annum, based on the location and job requirements. Please note that salaries may vary depending on factors such as experience and qualifications.
