Position Overview:
The RN Nurse Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of our nursing team. This position involves collaboration with the Director of Nursing to ensure effective management of both licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing and directing nursing staff functions, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
- Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and billing for supplies utilized.
- Coordinate patient care and facilitate necessary hospital transfers.
- Develop work assignments for unlicensed staff, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
- Conduct compliance rounds and report significant findings to the Director of Nursing.
- Foster effective communication with attending physicians and healthcare providers.
- Support the care planning and MDS process, participating in relevant committee meetings.
- Monitor physician services to ensure adherence to current regulations.
- Provide training and education to nursing staff as required.
- Complete necessary documentation for patient care, adhering to Medicare guidelines.
- Coordinate transportation for patient appointments and maintain family communication.
- Exhibit fair supervisory skills, applying corrective actions uniformly.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff, aligning with staffing budgets.
- Maintain personnel file documentation, including evaluations and skills verification.
- Address complaints and grievances related to nursing services as directed.
- Promote inter-departmental communication to enhance working relationships.
- Monitor compliance with procedural guidelines among nursing staff.
- Stay informed about current licensure standards and survey processes.
- Conduct rounds to ensure patient care quality and cleanliness.
- Implement educational and quality assurance programs as needed.
- Uphold the organization's reputation through exemplary leadership and communication.
- Contribute to collaborative efforts within the organization.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support organizational success.
Qualifications:
A Nursing Degree from an accredited institution or completion of an approved RN program is required. An active RN License to practice in the State of Georgia is mandatory.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role includes oversight and direction of unlicensed nursing personnel.
