Bridge Engineering Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Engineer to join our team at Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and manage bridge projects in the Tampa office and collaborate with our engineering team across the company.

About the Role
This position involves building and leading a bridge group within our Tampa office, coordinating with the bridge engineering team, and playing a vital role in expanding our presence in Florida. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of pursuing and managing bridge and transportation projects, primarily for public sector clients including FDOT and other state departments of transportation, metropolitan planning organizations, transit agencies, municipal clients, and other public entities.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Bridge Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Performing design work on new bridges and bridge widening/rehabilitation projects
  • Evaluating, inspecting, and load rating services for existing bridges
  • Providing technical oversight and/or Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews related to these services

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 15 years of experience in bridge design, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and P.E. registration in the state of Florida or the ability to obtain within 6 months. Experience designing bridge projects and preparing contract documents in accordance with FDOT policies and procedures, as well as experience with Alternative Delivery projects, AASHTO bridge design specifications, and FDOT specifications, policies, and procedures, is highly desirable. Additionally, strong experience with a variety of bridge design software, excellent communication and business development skills, and the ability to travel to project sites, company offices, and client meetings are essential.

Compensation and Benefits
