Job Title: Public Health Nutrition Specialist

Estimated Salary: $80,733.91 - $98,132.57 Annually

Solano County's Health and Social Services Department is seeking a skilled professional to work within the Nutrition Services Program. This position emphasizes community-wide health promotion and disease prevention through nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and healthy food access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement nutrition education services for target populations, working in collaboration with medical providers to identify high-risk groups.
  • Provide client-centered nutrition education and breastfeeding support through the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition program.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to develop strategies for increasing access to healthy food options.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • One year of experience working as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
