Position Overview:

The Temporary Cashier at Texas Book Company plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth retail experience for customers. This position involves managing inventory effectively, assisting customers, and maintaining the overall appearance of the sales area.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service both in-person and over the phone.
  • Engage in regular physical inventory assessments.
  • Accurately document any price adjustments, including markups and markdowns.
  • Keep track of promotional items, out-of-stock products, and defective goods, promptly notifying the relevant personnel.
  • Follow up on special orders, keeping customers informed about stock availability and any issues.
  • Provide insights to supervisors regarding current market trends.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the selling area at all times.
  • Operate the cash register in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

0-6 months of experience in a retail or cashier role is preferred.


Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework is a plus.
