We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Processor to join our team at Highmark Health. As a Laboratory Processor, you will play a critical role in receiving, preparing, and processing specimens delivered to the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients and perform test order entry into the laboratory information system accurately and efficiently to ensure proper testing and charges of patient accounts.
- Verify specimen identification and prepare and process specimens according to department procedures and protocols.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and ensure adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
- Provide support services such as answering telephones, faxing reports, and sending out specimens.
- Operate and maintain instrumentation, recognize problems, and take appropriate action.
- Mentor Medical Laboratory Assistant students in specimen processing utilizing WPAHS policies and procedures.
- Minimum 3 months of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, registration, and medical terminology.
- Preferred laboratory training program or degree in clinical sciences.
